The Wife’ star Glenn Close had a strange companion during the Spirit Awards in Santa Monica.

The actor who sported a pink laminated custom Sies Marjan suit, was accompanied by her scene-stealing companion, a well-coiffed Havanese pup, Pip Close.

Close posted a video on Instagram of her beloved canine travelling on the lap of her daughter, Annie Starke ahead of the event.
“We don’t know whether they’ll let you on the red carpet yet,” quipped Close.

The dog’s life is chronicled on Instagram under the handle @sirpippinofbeanfield.

Listed as the "only son of Glenn Close" with an "excellent nose", Pip's profile also lists him as an "International traveller. Student of the human condition. Fetch artist and mini-ball catcher extraordinaire!"

The off-leash pooch dutifully strutted down the red carpet alongside Close, who won the award for best female lead for ‘The Wife’.
